Best DIY Christmas Gift: Easy Mug Treats

Christmas gifts can be so fun to make. But some people are just really difficult to buy meaningful gifts for at a price point that fits into the Christmas budget. My sister actually came up with this idea. She was looking for single recipes that her teens could make themselves without destroying the kitchen. What a great idea! I started thinking of the possibilities: college dorm rooms, after school snacks, even moms that are on different diets than their families… endless possibilities for a holistic nutritionist. Her family of course eats differently than mine. This is the beauty and problem of this gift. I can’t test the gluten-filled recipes, so I had a friend check them out, two thumbs-up from her kids. (A big shout-out to my great friend over at https://ouramyablefarmhouse.com.) Meanwhile I went to work on quick paleo recipes. I wouldn’t have a microwave if it wasn’t for my husband, so now I’m glad he wouldn’t let me throughout all of them. Even though paleo isn’t a fan of microwaves, if I can provide my student quick, easy paleo treats and breakfasts at college; it feels like a win. In my experimentation, I haven’t found a shorten oven cooking time alternative. My guess is that she would have to use a toaster oven for the full cooking time compared to 1-3 minutes in the microwave. If they even allow toaster ovens in the dorm, I will still get her one. If not, paleo microwave treats are still better than junk.
